BasicOps can be integrated with Google or Microsoft Calendar so that tasks and events can be shared between them.
This article will show you how to:
- Open calendar view
- Change the date range
- Navigate through calendar view
- Add or edit a task in calendar view
- Use filters in the calendar view
- Integrate BasicOps with Google and Microsoft Calendars
Note: Only tasks with a due date are shown in Calendar view
Open Calendar view
Before you open the calendar, you must first decide whether you want to view all of your tasks across all projects in your workspace, or whether you want to see only the tasks which belong to a single project.
If you want to see all of your tasks in all of your projects, select Tasks in the left sidebar.
In the image below, note that the month of June has many tasks due. They are from all 6 projects in the sample workspace.
If you want to see only the tasks in a single project, select Projects in the left sidebar. Then select the project you are interested in viewing.
In the image below the “Product Roadmap” project was selected. Only its tasks will be displayed in the calendar.
To open your calendar, click on the Calendar tab at the top of the screen. Calendar view defaults to displaying the monthly schedule of all currently due tasks.
If you are on the BasicOps homepage and you see the message link View All Tasks Due Today or Tomorrow in the due section, you can click on that link and go directly to the calendar. (See images below)
The calendar will display the two Due Today and Tomorrow tasks. Note that the calendar is in weekly date range format.
Change the date range
You can change the viewable date range by clicking the View by pulldown menu at the top right. The available date ranges are Year, Month, Week, 3 Days, and Day.
For example, if you would like to view your calendar for the week, click on Week.
If you are viewing your calendar at some future or past date, clicking on the Today button will bring you back to the calendar view for the current day.
How to navigate through your calendar
You can navigate through your calendar by clicking on the forward and backwards arrows to the left and right of the date range.
The calendar will increment itself in the date range selected. For example, if you are viewing the calendar in a monthly date range, the calendar will adjust itself in monthly increments.
The available date ranges are Year, Month, Week, 3 Days, and Day.
Add or edit a task in calendar view
If you click in the whitespace area of a calendar date, you can add a new task to that date. Simply name the task, assign it to a team member, and fill in the other optional dialog boxes.
If you click on a task itself due on a particular date, you will be taken to the task details screen. Here you can add to discussions, add subtasks, files, followers among other things.
You can also set the due date in the task details by clicking on the calendar icon in the upper right hand corner.
Or, as shown below you can simply change the due date by dragging-and-dropping a task to a new date in the calendar. With your mouse, select the task and hold the left button down. Drag the task to its new due date on the calendar.

Regardless of whether you change the due date in the task details, or whether you change it by dragging and dropping, the dates will get updated in the task list.
Using filters in calendar view
If you wish to limit the information that is displayed in your calendar, you can use the filter options. From the filter pulldown window, select the attributes you want to display.
