Downloading the BasicOps Mac Desktop App enables you to have direct access to BasicOps in your Mac dock as well as have access to all your tools and settings for BasicOps in the Mac Menu bar for quick access.

Logging in to the Desktop App
Once you have installed the BasicOps desktop app, open up the app and login with your email address.
If you do not have a BasicOps account, you can create one by clicking Sign Up at the bottom of the Log in screen. Then enter the email address you wish to register with BasicOps.
After logging into your account, you will be taken to your workspace homepage where you can view the summaries of multiple projects and required tasks.
The Menu Bar Options
With the BasicOps app come different options in the Mac Menu Bar to make changes to your project.
BasicOps Tab in the Menu Bar
To access the General settings of your BasicOps account select the BasicOps tab in the Menu Bar.
A dropdown will appear with multiple options to select. The more important ones being:
- Settings
- Notifications
- Themes
Selecting the Settings option will open the following General settings for your BasicOps account. It displays the first and last name you entered when creating your account, as well as different options to connect your favorite calendar to BasicOps.
The Notifications option displays the following page allowing you to customize which BasicOps events trigger notifications. This will help you tailor them to your preferences and avoid unnecessary noise while still being able to address important tasks on time.
Finally, selecting the Themes option will open up a page with all the different options to customize BasicOps’ color. Allowing you to pick a color that best suits you.
The File tab in the Menu Bar
The File tab allows you to quickly create tasks, projects, and notes directly from the Menu Bar. If something comes to mind and you're worried about forgetting something you can quickly create the task, project, or note from here.
The View Tab in the Menu Bar
The View tab allows you to Reload the page to get the latest information inside your BasicOps workspace. Expand Sidebar shows the names of all your projects and their different sections. And Enter Full Screen to expand the desktop window to the size of your screen.
The Help Tab in the Menu Bar
The Help tab contains all of the tools to help you address any issues you may have in BasicOps.
Use the Help Center to find solutions to any issues you find confusing as it contains many articles about all the different features in BasicOps
If you’re curious about what shortcuts are available, select the Show Shortcuts option which will open up a page displaying all the different commands available.
If you have any feedback about BasicOps, select the Feedback option to be directed to a page to give us your feedback. The Recent Updates option will show all the recent updates to BasicOps. The Roadmap will show all the features in the works that you can look forward to.
Notifications from BasicOps on Mac
In order to receive Desktop Mac Notifications we first need to grant permission to the BasicOps application to send notifications. To do this, select the System Settings application.
Once opened select the Notifications page in the sidebar to access those settings.
Select BasicOps and enable notifications for the application.
Your Mac computer should now be able to receive notifications.
After enabling notifications on Mac for BasicOps you now need to enable notifications on BasicOps. To access this menu you can either use the Mac menu bar option discussed above, or you can select your profile picture in the top right corner and select Notifications in the dropdown menu.
After selecting Notifications, a window will pop up with all of the notifications options available for BasicOps.
For Desktop Notifications look at the sections labeled Desktop notifications. There you can choose which activity you want receive notifications. Now, for any important events that you selected, you should receive a notification.
