If you deal with others who aren’t employees of your company, but who are essential to one or more of your projects, you can make them part of your project team and monitor their progress. They can perform many of the same functions as internal users (the folks who work for your company), but can’t access certain BasicOps features that may be company-confidential.
A guest user is a BasicOps user who isn’t an employee of your company but is responsible for some part of a project. There are two categories of guest users:
- External users. External users are typically freelancers, self-employed consultants, or independent contractors who aren’t full-time employees of your company. They’re an essential contributor to a project.
- Clients. Clients are employees of any company you do business with, such as an ad agency, material supplier, or even a client organization. Their contribution to a project may be narrow in scope, but still necessary for its success.
Please note that the label “Client” can be updated to suit your needs. You could change it to “Vendor”, “Agency”, “Contractor” or anything that you prefer. Please see the help article Editing the Client Label.
