As an admin you can set up two special types of guest user accounts that have restricted access compared to regular users.
External user accounts: Best for people who work with you like any other team members but cannot be assigned to administer the workspace. Assign temporary contract workers or vendors to this role if you want to grant them the ability to manage their own projects and have full access to workspace files or discussions.
Client users accounts: A more restricted guest account. Useful for team members who will be reviewing work in progress or providing input to the project team as they work. This can include creating new tasks for the team. Users with this role cannot create new projects, move tasks to other projects, or delete files they didn’t add to the workspace. They can only see files outside of their assigned projects if someone grants them access. They cannot see project summary reports.Assign client user access to anyone who will oversee work, vs. contributing as a full team member. This role may also be useful for business partners or closely managed vendors, or temporary staff. As an admin, you can choose not to share specific details of the project with them such as certain tasks, related discussions or files. See Client Access settings for details.
Note: Before anyone from outside your organization can be part of a project, your admin must invite them to log in to BasicOps. Make sure you give your BasicOps admin the name and email address of any guest user you want to include in a project.
Here’s a summary of what client users and external users can (and can’t) do in BasicOps. (For the nitty-gritty of what client users can and can’t do, see What client users can and can’t do.
