BasicOps is filled with various features and functions so we don't expect you to become an expert overnight. This guide will help you get familiar with the three main sections (Home, Projects, and Tasks) along with basic tool functionality.
This article covers the following sections:
- Left sidebar
- Chat sidebar
- Home
- My Feed
- Projects
- Tasks
Left sidebar
The left sidebar is the main and easiest way to navigate around the system. It is comprised of several sections like Home, My Feed, Tasks, Projects, and Admin. And some features like My Notes and Search. Along with sections and features, the left sidebar also provides the option to create a project or tasks and manage projects.
Chat sidebar
The chat sidebar allows you to see who is online in your workspace. Hover over a user avatar to display a user card or click on an avatar to open a chat window. You can chat instantly or start a Zoom meeting.
Home
Home is the place you go to stay on top of the latest activity. Here is where you get to see what needs your attention like new tasks, review requests, tasks that are due soon, or tasks that are overdue. Home also displays your top priority tasks, a calendar, and project activity. Everything that is important to you will be here.
My Feed
My Feed is where you go to get all the latest information from your workspace. Any project or task update will be posted here. You can also see when someone has mentioned you somewhere, replied to your comment, or requested your review.
Projects
A project is where organization and collaboration take place. Projects are a collection of tasks, discussions, files, and team members. You can use projects to manage big assignments like a product, website, or marketing campaign.
In a project, you can see your tasklist in multiple views, get tasks stats, hold high level discussions, collect and upload files, and draft and share notes with your team.
Tasks
The task section allows you to see tasks across all the projects you are a part of. Here is where you can prioritize, manage, collaborate and track all tasks. You can view tasks by priority, due date, name, activity, or project. And filter by user, date, or task status. A great way to get an overview of all things you need to get done.
