If you integrate JIRA with BasicOps, developers can create and add JIRA issues to a task without leaving BasicOps.

Enabling the JIRA integration
In order to add JIRA to your workspace, you must be on a Professional or Enterprise plan. In addition, only the workspace admin will be able to add the integration.
- Click Admin on the left sidebar.
- Click Integrations.
- Find the JIRA card and click Add.
Once added, JIRA will show up under project integrations. See the steps below to learn how to connect a JIRA project to a BasicOps project.
Connecting a JIRA project to a BasicOps project
Once JIRA is enabled for your workspace, you can start connecting existing JIRA projects to your BasicOps projects.
- Go to a project
- Click the action button (3 dots next to the project title)
- Click Integration from the dropdown.
- Under the JIRA tab, click Connect Account.
- Log in and follow the prompts.
- Once connected, select a JIRA project from the list.
- Click Save Changes when you are done.
After a project is connected, JIRA issues can be added to any task within that project. See the steps below to learn how to add and create JIRA issues.
Adding JIRA issues to BasicOps tasks
Adding JIRA issues to a task is a great way to track updates directly from BasicOps. To get started, be sure your JIRA project is connected to the BasicOps project. See the steps above if you have not connected your project yet.
- Click on a task.
- Click the action button next to the status label.
- Click JIRA from the dropdown.
- Select the issues that you want to add to the project.
- Click Save when you are done.
Your JIRA issues will show up under the Integrations tab in the task details. The issues will also update instantly when there is a change from the JIRA side.
Creating JIRA issues from BasicOps
Before you get started ensure the JIRA integration has been authenticated in the project. Follow the steps above in Connecting a JIRA project to a BasicOps project. After authenticating, you can start creating new issues directly within BasicOps.
- Click on a task.
- Click the action button next to the status label.
- Click JIRA from the dropdown.
- Click the Add JIRA Issue tab and fill out the form.
- Click Save when you are done.
The new issue will show up under the Integrations tab in the task details and in the JIRA project.
